When the entrance of your house opens directly into the living room, it can sometimes seem like an abrupt and unceremonious way to enter the home. While this saves on square metres, it doesn't give us much of an opportunity for a warm or proper-feeling welcome. If you're looking to remedy this situation and find the perfect ambience, you've come to the right place.

We have seven of the best examples of ways to divide the living room from the entrance, some of which you won't even need to spend a penny on. So come with us and get inspired!

1. With a wall system

Do you fear that divide between your living room and entrance will steal valuable space? Transform it into a wall system for books, the TV, the stereo system, or perhaps to make way for a small study area: in this case, we could even think about a solution on wheels.

2. With open shelves

To divide the living room from the entrance, you could use a shelving structure. It's practical and easy to implement, which will help make the entrance more welcoming and to give more privacy to those occupying the living room. This setup is ideal for low-light homes where a partition would risk creating an environment that is too dark.

3. By playing with volumes

Sometimes you don't need to separate with large dividers: a simple set of volumes adjacent to one another could be the answer for you to create different spaces within the same environment. The result is an open space that is fluid and dynamic.

4. With a library

Do you have so many books that you don't even know what to do with them? Well, now you do! This library works in the same way as the shelving system we saw before, but with even more purpose. Place books or treasured photos on the shelves and give your library partition more character.

5. With a plasterboard wall

Alternatively the library, we could use a plasterboard wall: a simple and fast solution to be achieved to obtain different functional areas. You could even try a low-lying wall partition for an airier feeling.

6. Something mobile

If our living room is really small, you could also use a compact enclosure, as we see in this example. It leaves only a small footprint, but it's effective enough to give privacy to the entrance.

7. With a mainstay

Sometimes even a pillar can be useful and not only cumbersome! For example, we could use it as divider between living room and entrance, maybe, thus imposing around it a shelving system. This idea is great for getting those creative juices flowing, but then again, so are the rest of these ideas.
