It is important to use superior designing skills when you put together your home. Since it is a long term investment, it makes sense to design your home in a way that you enjoy it for a longer time. This charming home has been designed by Chaitali Shah, an interior architect in Mumbai. What is most attractive about this home is the openness of the design. With the home looking spacious and beautiful, the lighting and colours used accentuate it to a higher level.

Gorgeous colours

Nothing contributes to the elegance of a room like the right colour. Here, the designer seems to have stuck to a deep blue to elevate the room and make it look striking and impressive. A simple accent wall in the living room gives the room a certain sophistication.

Balanced appearance

Dark colours can bear the room down, but the architect has prevented this by using white doors and shelves. A grey sofa has been added to balance the look. The fabric used for the sofa combined with the design makes it luxurious and perfect in this space.

Subtle elegance

A broad view of the room gives you an idea of the consistency in the design. The architects have achieved perfection with the simplistic TV unit design. A large square in a deep grey seems to frame the large TV. Drawers and open slots below the TV provide the needed storage.

Modest false ceilings

False ceilings are a wonderful way to add lighting to your home. The soft lighting effect gives your room the right look. By going with a more simple pattern, the architects have added accent lights and fans in the ceiling.

Enclosed storage

The architects have used one side of the TV unit as a crockery unit. It, however, does not look out of place thanks to the concealed design. The shelf hides a large table which can be opened and used when required. It works as a dining area as well. The hydraulic movement makes opening and closing it easy and effortless.

Smart design

A look at this space when the dining table is closed gives you an idea of the smart design. It looks like this place has been designed as a shelf or a cabinet. The clean and balanced look is just perfect.

Inset storage

Storage is always essential in any home and here, the architects have provided for the same below the table. It makes the dining area usable, functional and efficient.

Wonderful textures

It is important to combine a couple of different textures and patterns, so the colours and designs combine fluidly. A small window that opens out from the kitchen into the dining area looks beautiful, thanks to the wonderful stone effect.
