There’s a growing trend in real estate and architecture that has been popping up in places across the world. More and more people are seeking residence away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Yet they don’t want to do so in the ways of generations past. Instead of trading the modern amenities of the city for a simpler life in the country, they are combining the best of both worlds. The result is that architects are designing homes on the countryside or oceanic coastlines that resemble cutting edge, modern homes that one might typically associate with the city in order to meet these demands.

Today on homify360 we will be exploring one such abode in Brazil by Martins Valente Arquitetura and Interiors. The ultramodern home has a streamlined modular exterior replete with shining windows, yet its landscaping and interior décor tell a different story. These elements hold all the vibrancy of a proper vacation home in the tropics. We hope you’ll join us as we take a closer look.

Perfectly balanced façade

The façade does a good job of setting the tone for the overall themes of design present in the home. The structure of the exterior is undeniably modern. The box-like shape of the house is a hallmark of modern architecture. The use of concrete and glass in the design further emphasises the sense of modernity.

At the same time there are many elements of the tropical aesthetic at play here too. The warm wooden door amidst the concrete stands as a beacon of welcome. Meanwhile, the palms and other tropical plants serve to contrast the coolness of the concrete and offset the sharp edges of the design.

Multi-level interior

It is rather unapparent from the façade, but the home actually spans over multiple levels. On the ground level is this sunny open plan kitchen and living space. The design features a sense of cultural richness that is presented in a subdued, modern way.

The blue duquesa tiles, plaster walls, traditional oven, and raw wooden coffee table add a warm, tropical vibe to the interior. Still, the predominance of neutral tones gives the look a more updated, modern spin.

Taking a closer look

We can’t get over how lovely the lighting in the kitchen is! The large windows do more than invite splendid rays of sunshine into the interior, however. They also provide a beautiful view, which plays an integral role in the interior aesthetic by allowing the tropical motifs present in the surrounding areas to become distinctive visual features of the kitchen.

Integrating the outdoors

When we shift our orientation we see these expansive bespoke windows, which truly blur the boundary between the interior and the gorgeous outdoor terrace.

As we can see, these windows can be opened to create direct access between the sitting area and the patio, allowing for the free circulation of fresh air. What a marvellous view!

Gorgeous green

The strikingly green tile work steals the show in the master bathroom. Specifically, the tiles frame the luxurious hot tub, which issurely one of the best spots on the property to relax and unwind.

Though understated, the washbasin stand is equally as opulent as it is done in cream colouredmarble. The glass shower door helps to keep things spacious.

Grand finale

No doubt the backside of the home has a few significantly different characteristics than the front. First, there are plenty of resplendent windows built into this side of the home. Situating the windows at the rear of house allows the family privacy while still inviting plenty of natural light into the home.

Of course, we can’t forget about the pool. These dignified white concrete steps descend directly to the beautifully tiled swimming pool, whose radiant blue colouring contrasts beautifully with the cream coloured concrete of the exterior.
