Here at homify, we know that there are many of you out there who love Scandinavian design. Acclaimed for its simplicity, utility, and beauty, Scandinavian design has a pure style that focuses on warm functionality, clean lines, impeccable handiwork, and minimized elegance.

To show you some truly quintessential Scandinavian design, we are taking you to a lovely home in Singapore designed by Designer House architectural crew

Now without further ado, let's take a look inside!

Neutral colour palette

The first stop on our tour is the living room. The designers used a neutral colour palette of off-white walls paired with soft brown furnishings and black accessories. The textile layering in the living room creates a warm, well designed space, and the neutral colours allowed them to create the space more easily.

Many Scandinavian designed homes are distinguished by the use of earthy muted tones, honest materials, and minimal ornamentation like this home here.

Down the hall

From this angle, we can see the entertainment centre set-up, and we get a great view of the hallway leading to the kitchen.

This image perfectly shows the great length and scope of the home. The pearl white flooring accentuates this as well, and makes the home appear even larger.

Bright spaces

The use of light is considered to be extremely important in Scandinavian design, making this kitchen the quintessential Scandinavian-inspired space.

The monochrome white decor enhances the natural light pouring through the windows, brightening up the space and contributing to an atmosphere that makes you feel lighter and happier.

A quaint bedroom

The neutral colour palette continues even into the bedroom. The white bedding perfectly complements the dark hard wood flooring and brown storage space, and the dark brown curtains provide excellent privacy and are perfect for blocking out the sun when needed.

Different perspective

Here we have the bedroom from a different perspective. We can see the en suite bathroom just beyond the doorway. We can also see how the use of white walls in this space has created a more open feel, so the room doesn't seem so small.

The bathroom

The last stop on our tour is the en suite bathroom itself. With tiled, soft grey walls and light timber flooring, this bathroom exudes a clean, classy vibe—it's the perfect way to finish a tour of this relaxing, chilled home.
