Clare Haxby Art Studio—Singapore Collections

Clare is a British Fine Artist living in Singapore. Over recent years she has worked on several collections including the much admired Singapore Botanical Gardens and Singapore Landmarks. Clare's work has gained much interest from professional groups and collectors. Her work has exhibited at The Fullerton, the American Club and private galleries. Clare's work is also exhibited at the V&A museum in London and her design work has been used by Liberty's of London, Isetan Japan and Tangs Singapore amongst others.

  • The Botanic Gardens, Singapore

    The Botanic Gardens in Singapore, home to the Singapore National flower, the Orchid and to the other statement tropical flowers; the Ginger Lily. Alongside the lush dark green vegetation and vibrant tropical flowers is the cool linear structure of the bandstand and the elegant colonial Black and White Plantation House Bungalow now known as Burkhill Hall. Clare takes the viewer on a sensory walk through the stunning Botanic Gardens of Singapore.

  • The Fullerton Hotel

    This elegant facade of The Fullerton Hotel is located on Fullerton Road. Formerly the Singapore Post Office building and also used as a hospital during the war. In this painting the Artist used 130 vintage stamps, many have the postal frank mark from going through the postal system when the hotel was still post office and depict Singapore as part of Malaya. Showing the British ER red pillar box and the palms and tropical plants of Singapore highlights the history and heritage of this East meets West colonial hotel that was awarded an architectural heritage award in 2001 and also is a Conde Nast Gold Traveler Award destination hotel.

  • Black and White House Singapore

    The Black and White Houses or 'Bungalows' as they are locally referred to are part of Singapore's Colonial heritage. These stunning dwellings, raised on stilts to aid ventilation with galleried verandahs to reduce the glare of the tropical heat. Surrounded by tropical Palms Trees and Jackfruit and mango trees these buildings are statement houses of Singapore's past and present. This Black and White was formerly 'The Stage Arts Club' a Dramatic Arts venue for actors on Malcolm Road.
