Louis Punk

Louis punk is an 24 hour creative marathon project. It

illustrates a vision of what could be an connected objects ecosystem ( biotope ?) which provides changing and evolutive perception of a space. it theorize an innovative aproach of uses in a new aesthetical language where ornament meets new technologies.

At first we observe that being static spaces and specially small spaces could provide time after time a carceral cell feeling, without any emotion.

Our aproach is to make evolutive the perception of the space.

Louis Punk purposes an connected objects family magnetized on Chambord, an oval ceiling silver semipolished finishing piece.

Chambord evocates the traditionnal oval ornaments of Renaissance style castles. His finish provides a subtle blur reflection of the environment.

Mazarin is the brain of the system. It comes like a long pipe finishing in a gass bubble who protects an attendance and position sensor. Mazarin is an generative brain who can offer lighting scenarii based on people comportment.

Mazarin shape is an evocation of ancient scholar glass instruments or water clocks.

Louis XV is the space sun. His RGB Led canopy can change the intensity and colour of the space lighting, from dynamic light on the morning to lounge ambient on the evening for example. Louis XIV shape evocates the balls that decorates classical bannisters.

The Marie Antoinettes directional domes purposes to delimit spaces in the space by halos. Mazarin can tell to Marie Antoinette where the occupant is to adapt and orient the halo. The facetted shape of Marie Antoinette permit to direct it on the right position. It’s also an evocation of jewellery rhomboid cut and finishing.

Melies hosts a pico projector on an techno / classical nearly steampunk style tube assembling. His function responds to a very actual problematic : as we demariarialize our cultural stuff ( books, magazines, newspapers) on numeric tablets, we lost the subtle evocation of our cultural references we get when we pass by a bookshelf. Melies projects on the wall random and serendipity  pictures based on the cultural stuff located in the tablet. Melies make visible sensible things that i forget in a file.

Fouquet is an amorph solar panel who can produces energy even inside. The idea is to purpose an progressive approach of hybrid objects, based on the observation that now clean energy is often ON or OFF solutions. Even if Fouquet provides few natural energy the idea is to puposes an hybrid system who can be easyly upgraded following the technical progress. It is on the same dynamic than the states commitments wich definy long term energy plans.

Fouquet shape evocates classical heraldry flags.

Louis Punk is designed for flexibility : it permits to compose progressively  the family, to upgrade parts, to compose an strong masterpiece like a futuristic chandelier that you can technically upgrade.

The aesthetical approach theorises that as there is more and more technical objects in the domestic areas the functional international aesthetic language could for some objects meets an ornament domestic and precious language to make technical objects domestic jewellery and to mix ornament with new uses.

Louis Punk was designed during the 24 hour design Hackathon organised in Paris by  Cut and Paste and Hewlett Packard. The studio Franck Magné team was composed of Franck Magné, Claire Vitoux and Bertille Raguin.
