In the UK every type of comfort surrounds us, from running water to electricity, from every type of technology to a simple and enhanced network of transportation that allow us to go everywhere. However there is new data showing that there is a new hazard occurring; at a certain point we decide to deprive our body of its ver y own fuel: Food. For the first time in history, people are the cause of their health problems and are unaware that they are killing their own body. There is a general ignorance on the matter of food. There are no doubts that there is a massive need to increase people’s awareness on the topic worldwide, a need to learn where to get vitamins, minerals and other important nutritious that just a healthy diet can give. The aims of the FoodLab is to make people more aware of what foods there are and how people can benefit from consuming them in the best ways possible. FoodLab could be the beginning of a “delicious” revolution. The space is offering different services, from cooking classes, to lectures on food to a restaurant.
How could a space that is all about food not being inspired by the shape of it? In order to design the space I star ted by highlighting the shape of food with printing. I then analysed it in many different way and translated into 3D.
What is unique about the space is the chance for the user to have everything in one place. A bible on nutrition and a resource for cooking classes, an healthy dinner as well as a place where you can learn more about yourself and your diet.
The FoodLab is based on a new user-focus design that put its focus on different age users and how they can all benefits from the different services offered by the space. The space could help lots of people and change their habits bringing them onto the right track to a healthy and long life.
