Today we travel to Mrs and Mr Patil’s home of 10 years, where we'll explore their modern home with a dark and luxurious interior decor.
Their newly renovated home is our senior interior designer, Eilin’s latest project. Renovation works are mainly done for the first and second floor. The area is quite expansive and covers a generous 900 square feet. So as we move onwards with our tour, you'll see that there are many personalisation as wife, Indira, is an animal lover with a particular liking of dogs. Much effort and thoughts were put into this project to create a home that’s not only welcoming and cosy but also reflective of a sweet loving couple’s journey together.

Old TV feature wall; with a lacked of storage space as seen by the clutter and piling of things on the cabinet.
Old living room: Glass separation wall with a awkward full height wardrobe and shelving storage next to it.
Old dining area: sitting cushion booth that stands out awkwardly with even more clutter.

aluminium strips nailed on to give a floating effect
View from second floor: New TV feature wall: The black and gold pairing, transformed the otherwise plain background into a luxurious classy setting. Definitely a talking-piece for friends and guests to admire.
New TV feature wall: featuring carefully nailed on aluminium strips to create a floating life-like illusion
New TV feature wall: Left profile here features a black mirror glass cabinet. All existing loose furnitures were given an instantenous upgrade with the perfect backdrop.
New living room: Here you will notice we use the same glass panel to separate the stairs and living area. We also created a sleek full height cabinet that's classy and efficient, with lots of storage space!
New living room: close-up of the left profile
New living room, sitting area: featuring a full length show cabinet, using black mirror glass with display show shelving.
New dining area with ample storage space: Here the couple wanted a breakfast counter so we did a small island bar overlooking the living room area, with built-in open display shelvings. Notice the sleek dog fence that's so much more pleasing to the eyes compared to the previous version.
New master bedroom: Notice that main bone of this room is still the same, but we added a glass panel with intricate dogs designs, designed specially for Wife, Indira's love of dogs. The glass mirror allows for light to reflect off it, creating a much brighter and vibrant room. We also painted the room purple to borrow an air of romantic vibe.
New guest toilet: Here is the door to the guest toilet, using the same reflective glass mirror to make a room brighter and more luxurious. The 'invisible' door is done in glass finishings.
New guest toilet: simple stand alone sink without storage underneath, this simplicity will visually open up the toilet area, an especially smart trick to employ in small spaces.
New guest toilet: Sleek laminate black cabinet for extra storage space
New guest toilet: using colored marble slabs to continue the luxurious streak
